It is rare for an American magazine, albeit the Asia edition, to publish an article about cricket - especially a business magazine. Rarer still is an article about cricket and China together.

Couple weeks ago, Forbes published an article about the imminent rise of the Asian Dragon in cricketing circles. The Chinese government plans for the country to have "20,000 trained players, 300 umpires and 2,000 coaches by 2015." And as if that wasn't enough, they would like to become good enough to qualify for the 2019 World Cup.

Till now I had thought these pledges were mere rumour but thanks to this and a previous article in Cricinfo, those concerns are very much real. We shall have to wait and see what really happens.

For now though, cricket is still very much stuck to the Commonwealth. :)
