The Next Wayne Rooney

One day, we might be asked a trivia question: Who is Rhain Davis? If you didn't until now, you will have after this post.

9-year old Rhain Davis used to play for Brisbane club, Redlands United. That was before his grandfather sent a DVD to Manchester United of his grandson in action. The Mancunians were impressed and now Davis is part of United's youth academy; along with 29 other nine-year-olds in this year's batch recruit. But The Sun has already dubbed him the next Wayne Rooney. For that, only time will tell. For now, enjoy the footage that has more than 3 million hits on YouTube, and impressed the good men at Old Trafford.

That kid has far too many skills (and his own Wikipedia article - how many 9-year-olds have one of those?) for his own good.

The really frightening part of that video was how much of it seems to have been drawn from one game - the one against the team in the yellow shirts. Something tells me the parents of the other team in that game would've wanted to kill him afterwards.

Hehehe! (It's scary to think even 9 year olds have Wiki pages and we're slogging it away with nothing to show of our endeavours...)

Still, it looks as though that page might be deleted. Doesn't get around the fact that he's freakishly talented.

I'm trying to understand why they're deleting the page but I still don't get it. Could you please explain?

The argument seems to run that, while he's clearly fantastically talented, he's only 9 at the moment. The general consensus on Wikipedia has been that you need to play at least one game for the senior team to earn an article, and Rhain's still a few years away from that.
A secondary line of argument says that something gets into Wikipedia if it's covered by multiple third-party sources, which he certainly has been. The question then becomes whether or not this coverage is just of the "And finally tonight, a little kid who can play like Pele" variety, or whether it's actually a more serious thing. If it's more serious coverage, he may qualify under a sort of "general" heading, rather than the sport-specific one.
