Keep an eye on politics as well as the legal pages - politics is the birthplace of law.

Liberal Conspiracy regularly highlights laws in progress etc. And (I'm not just saying this because I write it two days in seven) the netcast is a good place to skim for stuff.
Boing Boing for technology and IP law.
Ministry of Truth is a blog I'd recommend to any budding lawyer because Unity knows research and how to do it, even if he's not that hot on editing things down to digestible length.
[livejournal.com profile] briansloan is a liberal law student you might find interesting.
I also like Feminist Law Profs.
