Spain 0 - 1 SUISSE [Fernandes 52'], Group H

There once was a team from Iberia,
Who claimed they'd overcome their hysteria,
European Champs notwithstanding,
The Swiss did the scoring,
It might just have been collective am-nesia!

I've been experimenting with limericks on Facebook this afternoon. So I thought I'd share my latest version with you.

You seriously need to learn about scansion. Also, rhyming on an unstressed syllable (as you do with 'ing') in a limerick is pretty lame. :p

This is a bit better:

There once was a team from Iberia,
The strongest by any criteria!
Their strikers did miss
As they lost to the Swiss
And they'll now get some time in Siberia.

Thanks! I'd never heard of scansion before so I'll have a look at it after my exams. I knew there was something wrong with the rhyming but I couldn't work it out. Might've been something to do with the fact I hadn't slept in over 24h...
