Miscellaneous... incl. the India Diaries

I'd not heard of this addictive puzzle till about 3 weeks ago when [livejournal.com profile] dubaiwalla mentioned it to me as a result of a post by the genius, [livejournal.com profile] pappubahry. Then the esteemed Wikipedia (my biggest time-waste, comfortably ahead of MsN), carried it as its featured article on June 10th. Now, even India's best newspaper, The Hindu (yes, ToI lags behind), carries it daily on the back page.

I'm definitely hooked but it's really easy once you get the hang of it.

Funny how something that became a craze in Japan, nearly 20 years ago, has taken so long to hit the rest of the world - but judging by its recent impact, it has been nothing short of tsunamical proportions.

Just out of curiousity, how many of you had already heard about it before this post, and how many of you have become hooked to it?

Only time will tell if this is just a tad. In the meanwhile, happy logical reasoning.

India continues to be CHEAP... an hour @ an internet cafe is just Rs. 25 (highspeed!). A newspaper like the The Hindu costs a mere Rs. 1.50 or 2.50!!! And that's for a full 20-pages of broadsheet plus a coupla supplements. That's value for money. Today's lunch cost all of Rs. 35 and boy, was it filling and scrumptous. (Exchange Rates).

The 'summer training' is getting better. Time actually flew a few times today with some monotonous data-entry and manual data-verification. I have decided not to work in a bank like this. Stock trading, here I come...

In the meantime I leave you with:

01. Reply with your name and I will write something I like about you.
02. I will then tell what song/movie/icon reminds me of you.
03. In the event you were to recieve the dubious honour of getting your name into legal history, I shall attempt to predict the title of the textbook where you'd end up.
04. I will try to name a single word that best describes you.
05. I'll tell you the most memorable moment I've had with you.
06. I will tell you what animal you remind me of.
07. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.
08. Put this in your journal.
