One of my favourite pieces of Victorian engineering is The Barton Swing Aqueduct. Boggles the mind.

Thanks. You're absolutely right, good looks and good works. I'd heard of the Aqueduct but I didn't realise it was near Manchester. I'll have to check it out one day. Thanks for sharing.
