The article on CWG boycott, notice how Indian readers feel its ok to boycott but the Caucasian readers make valid points that it shouldn't be boycotted? I think we are at a stage where we love to diss India.

I did notice that and found it somewhat surprising because usually it's us (with my Indian hat on) defending Mother India till the cows come home. I don't think we're at a stage where we can diss India, especially in an international forum. That said, and my Western readers may find this difficult to believe, amongst ourselves we are the most unpatriotic people ever. It's only when we're set against a common "enemy", ie the West do we stand up for the Motherland. Otherwise we almost take pride in splitting into our various splinter groups (Hindu v Muslim/Christian, Marathi v Bihari, Tamil v The Rest, upper castes v lower castes etc). We don't really believe in a united India unless it suits us. It reeks of hypocrisy. Ugh, sorry for the rant. Must be the caffeine!

I completely agree. We accommodate unity as and when it suits us.

And oh the diss thing, meant it sarcastically, as in a lot of Indians enjoy doing that.
