Compounded by the fact that I was sick for the year's first few weeks, so when I finally got better, encountered a veritable mountain of work piling up.

I don't think my ideal flag would look anything like that. It wouldn't have so many readily recognized symbols, if any, and would probably be less noble looking. It wouldn't look like the flag Bill Hicks suggested to patriotic Americans. And it would have at least seven colors. At least four animals and five plants. Water, clouds. Crystalline shapes. It would produce sound. It would be cool in the summer and warm in the winter. And if you burned it, it would be reborn as something greater.
Hm, I wonder why I never did so well on this assignment in elementary school.
