Spanish Eyes...

My right contact is stuck inside the top of my eye and I can't get it out. I don't even have hardkore proof it's up there but there are signs.
Robyn invited me to go watch short independent Spanish movies with her @ du Parc. It was all part of this week long (i don't really know the details) festival of spanish culture i think. Henyways the drama began about 10 minutes into the first short film when out of the blue I noticed I'd lost sight in one of my eyes. Unfortunately the contact didn't pop out so the next few minutes were spent on trying to get it out which it did finally.
Then I realized there was nothing to do till the first intermission so I decided to just keep it in my fingers until then. Unfortunately it slipped while I was trying to shift between holding it, drinking coke and eating popcorn. What a horrible mix...
So the next few minutes I spent searching for the contact, remaining as calm and quiet as possible. It was bloody dark and for those who don't know, i'm 'half blind' in essence with a power of negative 8 in both eyes. There was i, sitting like a dumb idiot looking for a contact. Eventually it was traced but by that time it had become rock solid hard and I got scared. What if it cracked or something? It was 20 minutes till the intermission and I ran to the nearest public bathroom.
The contact had formed a horrible shape so i just let it sit under cold water for a while. Eventually it became limb again so I decided to try and put it back into my eye. That I did, but as soon as it went in, it didn't sit in place and probably went into the top and back of my eye where it's been ever since. Now, this was obviously a public bathroom so it wasn't too sweet. And i didn't have my solution so things were not pleasant.
Realizing the contact wasn't in place I began a thorough search and sweep mission in the bathroom for my contact. Some of the other guys who noticed I was in distress tried to help me out but it obviously hadn't fallen out. Well, longer story short I ended up sitting the next 3 hours in the cinema watching the movies with only one eye. It wasn't too much fun but it was a unique experience.
Most of the movies sucked though. A few were cute, and I especially liked the second one which was about this old couple who were preparing for their death ceremony. It was really striking, but sweet. So yeh. That was my night. After getting home I sent an SOS on my MsN and was lucky enough to get some immediate responses. Unfortunately, despite some of the greatest advice it's still holed up there. The son of a gun...
In support of the cause for getting it out, please take part in
[Poll #255743]
PS I'm more appreciative of The Passion of the Christ tonight than I was when I watched it last night. I guess it was just so overwhelming but in a subtle way that I needed some time for my mind to settle down with it. As for LoTR - since I've been requested to read the books first, I can be pretty certain that I'll never get round to watching the movies. =)
Peace!
