I'm glad Oman gave a good account of themselves in the thrashing of Pakistan, and any defeat of the world's most dangerous country is always very welcome. That being said, India didn't fare much better against Saudi Arabia, English coach et al.

Good victory for England against the ageing European Champions, Greece in Old Trafford. Interestingly, nearly half the stadium was empty and that fuckface, Lampard scored. Italy meanwhile, fielded a 3rd string team against Croatia under new coach, Donadoni, and paid the price for it.

Most disappointingly of all however, was the result at Bramall Lane. After going behind to Sheff Utd, Liverpool were awarded a controversial late penalty, with Gerrard supposedly diving.

Either way, a most annoying way to start the new season. Several pundits have predicted us to win the title this year! I hope the injuries suffered by Riise & Carra are not serious.

Some of you know about my obsession with maps. Recently I discovered that Google had updated their satellite images of various cities around the world, including Muscat in Oman, Madras & Salem in India etc. The images are absolutely incredible to say the least.

Not surprisingly, I am not the only map-obsessed freak in the world. Whether you like maps or not, I highly recommend checking out this website: Google Sightseeing. It is SO fascinating!

There are a lot of amazing discoveries posted on it including one unearthed by a blogger in Germany. He had always wanted to visit China but didn't have enough money. When he learnt about Google Earth's update, he put his marriage on the line and upgraded his computer memory to 2GB.

About a month ago, while 'travelling' across rural China he came across a weird looking object that didn't fit into the surroundings whatsoever. Long story short, he discovered a human-size scale model of the Aksai Chin region in Kashmir, occupied by the Chinese since 1962.

Don't forget to check out yesterday's amazing discovery of the submerged plane, used by Carlos Lehder and George Jung during their drug-smuggling operations in the late 70s. George Jung was immortalized, IMHO atleast, by Johnny Depp in the 2001 movie, Blow - one of my all-time favorites.
