Guess what? Muscat is going to host the 2010 Asian Beach Games. The biennial event will take place for the first time in Bali in October this year. Events include windsurfing, kiteboarding, swimming, beach volleyball, beach soccer, marathon swimming, jetski sport, sailing, paragliding and dragon boat racing. Exciting times ahead for the Omani public, starved for decades of hosting events such as these.

"Everyone has one: a mate who spends ages in front of the mirror before heading out on Friday evening, dousing himself in deodorant and preening like a wannabe Casanova despite the fact that it's obvious to all that he's not going to pull. He'll return home later that night, alone as always, and, ahem, get a grip of himself. His whole sorry routine is an unwitting tribute to Liverpool in the Premier League."

Paul Doyle of The Guardian previews The Red's upcoming Premier League season. Previews of the other Premier League clubs are here.

From Cricinfo. It would be thrilling if it was played here, especially if The Oval and Lord's were to stage any matches. Australia and Pakistan are in our group... mouth-watering match prospects!!! And the timing's just perfect, unlike next year's World Twenty20.
