It's been a week of Hindu & Muslim festivities all over the world and we McGillians were not too far away from the action either. It started with the trip to a local Mandir on Tuesday night to watch fireworks, continued with seeing photos from the Diwali Open-House my family organized in Oman and culminated with the first-ever joint South Asian Salaam Namaste Eid & Diwali Semiformal last night.

A good crowd came together for the Mandir Trip on Tuesday nite

We pwned the entire metro carriage.

The line for the bus journey from Cote Vertu to the Mandir was LONG and we were all at the very end.

The Gods were suitably dressed up for the vunderfool occasion.

And Montreal's entire Hindu-community was there to witness the celebration.

I think that's the most my piano back home has been used in 3 years...

My tummy just grumbled again...

My sis wore a sari!!! So beautiful.

More colorful decorations.

And what's Diwali without a few firecrackers?

For the first time ever, the Hindu/Pakistan & Indian clubs @ McGill got together and put on a combined Eid & Diwali Semiformal event last night. What a fuckin' success. They let us have a bar and we let them cater halal-food. More than 200 ppl danced the night away to the hippest desi music on the market.

Caught off-guard...

"Teri tho, teri ta..."

The guy behind me, Amit, taught me this wikked trick - dip your fingers in your shotful of booze... place it in the flame, take the shot and then suck your fingers. Wow!

"Just Chiiiiiil, just chiiiill"
