Webhost Request

I have decided to create my very own Indian Portal Online and was wondering if anybody knows of or has contact to a cheap place where I could host my own URL.

In general though, does anybody know how much it costs to host a URL each month/year?

yup, and pretty reasonable service, too. I'm a customer with them myself, and can vouch for that. Symonds.Net (http://www.symonds.net/) are decent, too.

mcgillianaire, if you're going with dreamhost, make sure you go through some present customer. The original customer gets $97 US if they refer any one ... in my case, I'm happy to split it US $49/$48 with you. Or find someone else -- it'd be a shame to let almost $100 US go waste :)

In general, $8-10 US per month is what it takes. I heard good things about 1and1 (http://www.1and1.com/) too, ... until atrustheotaku had some bad experiences ;/ (Also, notably, they give you only one shell for login -- dreamhost gives you plenty more)
