Gone With the Windy City

I've just received confirmation of my trip to Chicago late next month.
On 16 March, in just over two-weeks, my dad arrives here in Montreal on his way to the Windy City for a sports medicine conference (I think!). While he's here we're gonna rent a car and make a road-trip to Toronto and Buffalo, NY. A week later I join him in Chicago where we'll rent another car and make road-trips to Detroit and Vedic City in Iowa.
Except for Buffalo and Toronto (though one-day hardly counts), these are all new places that I will be visiting. One-by-one, I am achieving my plan of visiting every major city in the US of A.

----
But in more depressing news and despite upgrading to the new version of Firefox... I restarted my computer only to discover that all my bookmarks had not only disappeared (again!), but the entire profile folder had also gone for a hike.
Luckily, having learnt from my first lesson, I started a process of backing up my bookmarks at regular intervals... only to lower my guard in the last couple weeks. What a bitch. On the one hand, the majority of my bookmarks have been recovered... but I guess it's a timely reminder to make sure I don't lower my guard again.
Not where information technology is concerned at least.

You may already know this, but...

Date: 2006-02-28 06:37 am (UTC)The last time we both visited the Niagara Falls was way back in 1992... I can still remember going there during the day when we did the Maid of the Mist journey and at night when they had the sound and lights show.
Fascinating and definitely worth the trip! We're visiting the same friends in Buffalo. Very good college mates of my dad's from medschool. One of them is the aunt of M. Night Shymalan, the director of Unbreakable, Sixth Sense, The Village etc. :)
And speaking of the devil, I was just writing a reply to your last email.
