Virendra Sehwag has just departed after falling 19 runs short of yet another take-it-as-you-please century on a perfect batting track @ the Eden Gardens, Calcutta. Luckily for me, ever since I stopped expecting too much from the Butcher of Najafgarh, I have been able to restrain myself from doing something wild and stupid while watching him wrest the initiative to the opposition, with a typical rush of blood. His dismissal however, brings the original-master blaster version out to the crease. Ladies and gentleman, put your hands together to welcome, His Royal Cricketing Highness, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. Here's to hoping for the Magic Number 35... but in the meantime, get to 10,000 first. :)

61.5 Abdul Razzaq to Tendulkar, one run, there it is! 10000 Test runs! On the pads, played to long-leg, what a player - what an achievement, crowd goes wild. Tendulkar becomes only the fifth cricketer in the history of the game to score 10000 runs in test cricket. He joins an elite club, with the likes of Allan Border, Sunil Gavaskar, Steve Waugh and Brian Lara, of players who have scored more than 10000 runs. With only Lara and Tendulkar actively playing, it will be interesting to know who will finish their career with the most runs in the years to come.

On the night of 23rd June 1985, Air India Flight 182 (a Jumbo Jet) was on a typical flight over the Atlantic on its way from Montreal to Delhi, via London. In fact, the flight originated out of Vancouver but stopped in Toronto, Montreal and London to pick up extra passengers. On that fateful long-haul journey however, something extraordinary took place just south of the Irish coast...
