In the 2002 Football World Cup, which national team squad had more players playing for English clubs than the English squad itself?
ANSWER:
Republic of Ireland. All their players were at English clubs. England however had one non-English club player. Owen Hargreaves was still at Bayern Munich. Interestingly, the French national squad comprised only five players at French clubs and eight players at English clubs. The Senegalese national squad on the other hand comprised all but two players at French clubs. The two odd balls played in Senegal itself and Morocco. Only two squads comprised players from a single country: Ireland (all at English clubs) and Saudi Arabia (all at Saudi clubs). Three squads comprised just one player not playing in their home country: England (one in Germany), Spain (one in Italy) and Italy (one in Spain). [2002 FIFA World Cup squads]
