An Aussie author describes European fiction as "dry" and "academic in a cheap, shitey way". I don't do fiction, but those who do, is it true?

It may be true of that specific anthology, but in general, no. Looks like he's just trolling for the publicity.

I prefer my books to be epic fantasy sagas, though I do read the occasional piece of fiction, I agree with the comment about trolling for publicity!

I don't think I've ever read an epic fantasy saga. Then again, I hardly read anything that's not factual, or at least based on historical/factual events!
