I'll admit I'm not up-to-date with my Asian music, let alone British Bhangra beats, but it's never too late to catch up. To that end I've subscribed to BBC Radio Asian Network's Friction podcast which showcases "new and unsigned British-Asian music from Brixton to Bombay". At under 10 minutes, it's a short enough podcast that leaves no excuse for not listening to it each week. The DJ plays short excerpts from over 20 of the latest British Asian beats, including this one from the latest episode. It promises to be the Bhangra anthem of the summer and I'm mighty pleased with catching it early. Apparently Garry Sandhu is a West Midlands artist who's about to break it into the big time. If he produces anything along the lines of this or this, he'll certainly go a long way. In the meantime, listen to the track above and throw your hands up in the air like you just don't care!!!
