I was really pleased to see that news on the cricket. I love five-Test series, and now that SA have given up on them the Ashes is the only one left. I'm very much in favour of this!

It's great news indeed. I think the only five-Test series India has played since I started following the game was an away series against the Windies in 1997. Before that we played a five-fer away in Australia in 1991/2 and got thrashed 4-0, but I didn't follow the game until that summer in England when we arrived at about the time Aamer Sohail scored a double century at... Edgbaston, if memory serves.

I miss the days when England and Australia even played six-Test Ashes which I can remember. I think the last one was in 1997?

But I still yearn for at least one Timeless Test to be played within my lifetime. I know it will never happen but it would be a fantastic idea as a one-off throwback to a bygone era in the way the game was played Down Under. Perhaps one day when the Test Championship is refined enough, the top two ranked teams can bust a gut in a year-end timeless encounter at the MCG. I suppose one can dream...

Better chance of a Brit reaching this year's Wimbledon final!

Mind you this is somewhat old news as it was mentioned (http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/dec/31/england-india-cricket-historic-agreement?INTCMP=ILCNETTXT3487) in a Guardian article from 2008! But I suppose we all know we shouldn't count our chickens where the BCCI is concerned.
