there are few things in life more beautiful than watching the moon rise. and watching the full moon rise over the ocean in winter is beyond heavenly...
if you ever can watch the moon rise over the ocean, i recommend it. its worth the drive. when i saw it (december 1999, i believe); it was a 4.5 hours drive..and totally worth every minutes of standing out in the cold to watch it!
but equally as gorgeous is watching the thin crescent moon hang so elegantly in the sky...
wow, that's so awesome!!! unfortunately the nearest beach is a bit more than a 4.5 hour drive. It's more like a 12 hour roadtrip! :P I'm headin' off to the Eastern Seaboard this weekend so maybe I'll have a chance to grab some moon rise over the ocean.
And I can totally understand braving the cold to watch something like that!!! I remember staying up late to catch one of those eclipse thingies a couple years ago and it was absolutely freezing out here.
Crescent moons are gorgeous indeed!! Wow, it's so cool to know there's someone else who's just as nutty (or moony :P) as me!
The moon has some kind of encaptivating power. I can't go a night without catching at least one little glimpse of it...
well since the new moon isnt until next week (the 14th i think off the top of my head?) you should have a chance at at least seeing a waning crescent moon..:)
12 hours from the ocean!? i would wither and die. i need to be within a reasonable drive from it.
almost like i have some strange affinity with the water..the ocean itself.
ohh wow, where in bedfordshire?! i nearly went to school in bedford!!!
kent is a lovely county. :) where exactly will u be relocating to?
mmm i'll be home for the winter, the same place i mentioned was right next to the ocean! ;) trying to get my dad to organize a camping trip while i'm there. on the beach would just be funfuckingtastic.
sean's job is relocating to dartford, so probably not too too far from there.. we haven't really started to look at probable areas/towns to live yet. (soon, no doubt.)
camping on the beach is fun..(i did it a few times when i 'lived' in san fran back in 1994) but i couldn't imagine doing it in the winter.. perhaps because i don't have the tolerance for cold weather that i once did...
Ahh, cool. I was reading up about that airport the other day... *nerd*
Oh, wikked! I've been to dartford.
Wow, you lived in the SF? I looooove that city! Yehh, winter in N.America is quite different to winter in the middle east tho! ;) And there, the winters are the BEST season of the year.

Date: 2004-10-07 02:59 pm (UTC)hehe ... i grew up a 5 minute drive from the ocean most of my life so 4 hours without it shouldn't be too bad. ;)
