Disastrous football result

Italy 1 - 1 USA

Disappointing. Very disappointing. We drew the game through 2 minutes of absolute madness. It was incredible how many times Toni found himself off-side. WTF. These guys play 50+ club games a season and still cannot break the bloody trap. I'm extremely angry with the way Italy played.

It was also a very physical game. I don't think I've seen so many free kicks in the first few minutes of play, and I watch games week-in, week-out. Di Rossi deserved a red card and so too the first American expulsion. Referees should not tolerate those kind of sliding tackles from behind.

Rod Harding, for those who know him, predicts Australia to win 2-0 today. He'll need to get very drunk tonight to come anywhere close to see what he believes.

Meanwhile, I applied for a British biometric passport today and hopefully it'll put to rest any future traveling hitches. I even look like the guy in the photo, a point which will receive elaboration in the next post.

WC Update

Brazil 2 - 0 Australia

The game was not fluent till the South Americans took the lead and then it picked up some pace and became interesting. The Aussies will feel a touch hard done but they still have a decent chance of making the next round.
