How I Nearly Got Deported from China!
Jun. 26th, 2006 04:45 pmMy China trip nearly didn't happen! Here's what happened at Shanghai Customs:
The lady officer at customs was not convinced I looked like the guy in my passport photo and raised the alarm bell. As the officer ran a forgery check on my passport I provided an extra ID to try and prove it was me. She was still not convinced and despite my dad trying to explain I was his son, she referred the issue to her superiors - Chinese Police.

Jun. 26th, 2006 09:18 pmI've just received an email for two job interviews at McGill University's Alumni Association. They're both in July (5th/6th and 24th onwards) and both for Associate positions.
This wonderful holiday in Oman might be entering its final week. Is this the beginning of a new dawn?
On the flip side, a summer break in India looks highly unlikely now...
