that's right! take that, socceroos. was this not the worst ref ever? can't believe that red card! and for materazzi no less. i have no idea if this is just my grandfather's crazy ramblings, but when he and i were reading the gazetta dello sport together in rome he saw that name in the headline and said, oh his name, it's like that thing, you know, you sleep on... so i wonder, could materazzi mean mattresses? if so, what an odd name!

also, how hilarious was the ukraine/switz ref (and what an awful match eh!). i love reading the bbc updates, they are second only to actually watching the match. can you believe he's a world cup referee AND a lawyer in mexico?
