UK General Election 2010: Youngest Tenant in 200 Years Takes Up Residence At 10 Downing St

We've got a new Prime Minister and first coalition government in seventy years. It's also the first-ever coalition between these two parties but only time will tell whether we are ConDem-nd or not. Five cabinet posts and a dozen or more junior ministerial roles. Exciting times plebs!

I was thinking today that it must've been forever since a coalition government over your way (my instinct says it's less likely to happen in FPTP electoral systems, since you end up with two opposing big parties dividing the electorate roughly in half), so I'm glad to be right.

Indeed, although it is twenty-six years since a party won (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_general_election,_1984) an absolute majority in an Indian general election!
